About Us

OUR VISION AND BACKGROUND

To be a leading vertically integrated timber and wood processing business in Zambia with a footprint in the sub-region.

Copperbelt Forestry Company (CFC) was born out of the partial privatization of Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation Limited (ZAFFICO) when the processing plants at Kalibu and Kafubu sawmills as well as 846 hectares of forest plantations were acquired in a Management Buyout.
Although the company is still heavily reliant on Zaffico for its Roundwood requirements, it has over the years acquired an additional 1,876 hectares of land with a view of having 3,000 hectares of own forest plantations by 2030 and become self-sufficient.
The company has adequate timber processing infrastructure and expertise to meet most of the timber requirements for the construction and mining industry in the country.

OUR MISSION AND CAPABILITY

To establish and sustainably manage forest plantations and maximize the utilization of timber with a view to promoting environmental conservation and optimizing value to stakeholders for present and future generations.

Copperbelt Forestry Company (CFC) is a Zambian wholly-owned company which was incorporated in 2000. It is a vertically integrated business engaged in forest plantation establishment; silvicultural operations; harvesting and processing of wood into various products for industrial and domestic uses.

CFC is run by a team of dedicated managers led by the Managing Director who has been in the timber industry for over 30 years. In addition to the expertise, the company has the necessary infrastructure to produce and supply timber and wood products for mining, construction and domestic uses as well as a fleet of trucks to facilitate timely delivery of goods. Over the years, CFC has continued to formulate and institute quality control measures in compliance with regional and international standards. In 2016, the company successfully obtained accreditation from Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) for its treated wooden poles.
